Description:

This addition of acreage and shoreline ensures that Woodard Bay NRCA will remain viable wildlife habitat as surrounding areas develop. The site contains nesting bald eagles, a harbor seal nursery, large bat colony, and a heron rookery and is important for river otters, waterfowl, and shorebirds. There are outstanding opportunities for outdoor environmental education and passive recreational uses.

WHAT IS THE WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
