The development of Wilmot Park will create a 5.3 acre riverside park within a dense urban setting which will function as Woodinville's first and only community park and as a regional park facility along the Sammamish River Trail. Features will include a non-motorized boat launch, a large multipurpose grass play area, and a large covered picnic pavilion providing spaces for year round educational and recreational use and 18 picnic tables. The park will provide a children's play structure adjacent to a restroom/maintenance building, bike racks, parking for 40 cars, and connective paths linking City and regional trail systems. Situated to provide unobstructed views of the Sammamish River from throughout the site, the project will result in over 700 feet of revegetation and habitat restoration along the Sammamish River bank. Interpretive facilities will describe the historic significance of the site for Native Americans, and turn-of-the century steamboat operations on the Sammamish River.
