Description:

This project involves acquisition of 13.4 acres in south-central Battle Ground (pop. 8,560). The site is located just north of Maple Grove Elementary and Intermediate Schools. An existing trail corridor connects the school campus to the park site on the east. The SR-503 regional trail system borders the site to the west. The Battle Ground City Council established this site as a top priority in the city's recently adopted comprehensive parks plan. The stand of large oaks is a prominent and widely recognized natural feature within the city, and park improvements will serve multiple neighborhoods in a rapidly growing residential area. Proposed improvements include trails, picnic tables, play equipment, and play meadows.

Immediately east of SR-503 approximately 300 feet north of the Maple Grove campus. 122nd Ave NE, north of 199th. No address assigned, however large park sign is viewable from SR-503.

WHAT IS THE WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
