The goal of this project is to start the acquisition of 218 acres of property adjacent to Sun Lakes State Park. The scope of this project, and State Parks priority, is to acquire approximately 50 acres which includes the rock outcrops at the lakes edge and the basalt bluff along the northern corner. This acquisition will increase State ownership and control of lake shoreline by approximately 5000 lineal feet and will provide potential for additional recreational developments and lake access. The long-term goal is to acquire the entire ownership which will increase opportunities to relocate an existing public roadway away from lake edge, thus allowing public use free from vehicular traffic.

Located on WA 17 between Coulee City and Soap Lake, 2 miles south of US 2/WA 17 intersection.
