Description:

The acquisition of two adjoining parcels totaling 23.78 acres is for a future passive park. The property includes 6+ acres of heavily forested upland and approximately 17 acres of pasture including a pond, seasonal stream, Springbrook Creek, and a farm house. The acquisition will enhance stream protection for the City watershed adjacent to this site, and extend Springbrook Corridor three miles to the Black River Riparian Forest. The corridor will support a future trail system.

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
