The site, formerly known as the Navy Reserve, is located just south of South Lake Union Park. This acquisition area housed the US Navy Reserve command post for years and is adjacent to Waterway #3, just at the southerly tip of Lake Union. The acquisition of this parcel will consolidate existing city park property ownership on South Lake Union, enhance open space and water access, and protect the integrity of the overall South Lake Union Park. The acquisition is consistent with the City's overall adopted master plan for South Lake Union and is a unique opportunity to preserve and reclaim park land to offset the increasing urban development and lack of available green spaces in downtown Seattle.
