Description:

The Similkameen Connector Trail Phase 1 is the first step in the overall development of a non-motorized trail that will serve as a connector to the Pacific Northwest Trail system and the extensive trail system within Okanogan County. This Phase 1 project will acquire eighteen (18) properties either through easements or fee simple, develop a seven mile section of trail, and construct a trailhead at Nighthawk. The trail site occupies a level abandoned railroad grade along the south side of the Similkameen River in a natural and scenic habitat that offers spectacular views of the river and of the Cascade Range in the Pasayten Wilderness.

Location:
Take Hwy 97 N to Oroville, take county road 9425 from Oroville to Nighthawk. The trail will be visible on the other side of the river.

WHAT IS THE WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
