Description:

The proposed project involves completion of the final phase (phase 3) of shoreline improvement along Rock Creek Cove Pond adjoining Rock Creek Park in Stevenson, on the Columbia River. Project improvements to date have included bank stabilization, landscaping, and beach improvements. This project includes a concrete ramp for launching car top and trailered boats (such as kayaks, canoes, row boats, and small fishing boats below 16 ft. and under 10 hp), a boarding float, a separate fishing platform, additional parking, storage for park owned and transient boats, and a restroom. The pond is accessable from the Columbia River to small draft boats and provides safe access from the river for kayaks and similar non-motorized boats. The park provides camping and day use facilities for touring kayakers and canoeists.

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
