Description:
This project represents the second phase of Riverfront Trail development for the City of Castle Rock. The project includes a restroom and expanded parking at the Northwest Trailhead, and 4,000 feet of gravel trail on the west side of the Cowlitz River. A second restroom and additional parking will be established at Lyons Park, which is the southern terminus of the first phase of the Riverfront Trail, located on the east side of the River. Benches, picnic tables, signage and habitat enhancement are also included in this project.

To reach the project area, take Exit 49 from I 5. Go west into downtown Castle Rock on Huntington Avenue [SR 411]. Turn right at A Street SW and go four blocks. Turn right into the City Shop at 360 A St SW, just before the bridge over the Cowlitz River. Park is accessible from Dike Drive SW and Mosier Road.

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
