Description:

This 31+acre acquisition in Thurston County addresses a high priority need identified by the city for both neighborhood and community park space in a service zone devoid of any public parks. In addition, the acquisition addresses two of the city's highest priorities: waterfront access and stream corridor/habitat preservation. Over 2,150 feet of a salmon bearing stream (Woodland Creek) will be added to sections of a corridor already in public ownership. Site amenities include: a house, three small structures, Woodland Creek, and a small pond that has a limited bass fishery. The structures will be used for recreational and maintenance support facilities for the site. From I-5 north take exit 108, Sleater-Kinney North; continue on Sleater-Kinney to 26th Ave.; from Sleater-Kinney turn right (east) onto 26th Ave.; 26th Ave. transitions into Pleasant Glade Rd. Continue on Pleasant Glade Rd. 1/2 mile to Jewett residence at 5011, (right hand side - prior to Woodland Creek.) -continue on Pleasant Glade Rd. to the Jewett residence at 5011, (right hand side - just prior to Woodland Creek.

WHAT IS THE WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
