Northwest Maritime Center
Description:
This project is to acquire approximately one acre of shoreline in the heart of Port Townsend. The site will provide access to 255 feet of Port Townsend Bay waterfront and is strategically located adjacent to an existing public pier, a boat launch and the Port Townsend Marina. Locals and visitors will be able to launch kayaks from this site, picnic, and walk the beach. The contour drops significantly just offshore, providing a popular spot for practice dives. Future development of a Maritime Center adjacent to this acquisition will provide additional educational opportunities. This project enjoys outstanding public support and will become a focal point along the waterfront.
