Acquisition in the Mount Si natural Resources Conservation Area (NRCA) for the most critical lands being threatened by mining and residential development. Mount Si NRCA is unique because of its large, relatively undisturbed area with rugged terrain, diverse ecosystems, large mammals, outstanding scenery, and recreation opportunities within 45 minutes of the Seattle-Bellevue metro area.

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
