Little Si Access

RCO Project Number: 06-2024
Recipient: Dept of Natural Resources
County: King
Legislative District: 5th
WWRP Account: Outdoor Recreation
WWRP Grant: $250,000
Project Type: Development
Date Funded: 2007

Description:

This project is to construct a 23 stall parking area and connection trail to the Little Si Trailhead in the Mount Si Natural Resources Conservation Area. The Little Si Trail system is one of the most popular in the Puget sound area. On many weekends throughout the year cars fill-up the existing parking lot and then park illegally along the narrow roadway and adjacent to local residences. Development of this overflow parking area will address this public safety hazard and reduce residence/hiker conflicts. DNR will likely expand this new lot in a secong phase with other funding sources. This project will be completed concurrently and in coordination with King County Department of Transportation's replacement of the adjacent Mount Si Bridge.

Location:
The project is located in section 11, Township 23N, Range 8E. Drive East on I90 to exit 32. Turn left on 436th Ave SE. At "T" instersection, turn left onto North Bend Way. Drive .3 miles and turn right onto Mount Si Road. Goover Bridge and project are on the north side of the road to the right of cabin.
