Description:

This project is designed to improve the safety, function and aesthetics of Lakeside Park. The need for improvements has been documented through three community workshops, five public meetings, community and user surveys and staff input. Lakeside Park was originally developed in 1938 as a passive, family oriented park. It continues to serve this purpose today. The proposed development for the park includes improved access with the addition of transient boat moorage, ADA accessibility improvements, sidewalks, a stepped sea wall along a portion of the beach and a paved boat launch area. It also has safety improvements including new signage, sea wall replacement, hand rails and parking.

Location:
Lakeside Park is located in the City of Chelan on the southern end of Lake Chelan. Access to the park is from Highway 97A at Johnson Place. The park is on the left as you enter the city on Highway 97A from the south.

WHAT IS THE WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
