Lake Boren Park
Description:
The Lake Boren Park project is a development project of an existing 18.2 acre park. Lake Boren Park serves as the only community park in the City of Newcastle. The purpose of this project is to expand the recreational opportunities to meet level of service standards. Phase I development of Lake Boren Park would include adding a basketball court, two tennis courts, a volleyball court, restrooms and drinking fountains. Additionally, a large picnic shelter, tables, benches and a barbecue would be added. Because of the increase in recreational use, 26 additional parking spaces would be added.
