Description:

The Lake Boren Park project is a development project of an existing 18.2 acre park. Lake Boren Park serves as the only community park in the City of Newcastle. The purpose of this project is to expand the recreational opportunities to meet level of service standards. Phase I development of Lake Boren Park would include adding a basketball court, two tennis courts, a volleyball court, restrooms and drinking fountains. Additionally, a large picnic shelter, tables, benches and a barbecue would be added. Because of the increase in recreational use, 26 additional parking spaces would be added.

Southwest corner of Lake Boren. Take I-405 north from Renton to Coal Creek Parkway Exit. Turn right, go approximately 3 miles to park direction sign at south end of lake. Turn right, then right again to parks.

WHAT IS THE WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
