Description:

John Gable Community Park is located adjacent to the high school. The park was built in 1980 and includes two baseball fields, playground equipment, a full size basketball court and restrooms. This popular park is in need of renovation and upgrades. The John Gable Park Improvement Project will enhance the function and aesthetic value of the park by refurbishment of the existing restroom facilities; improvements to the parking lot; addition of playground equipment, a small skateboard facility, foul ball safety netting, and batting/pitching cages; replacement of the backstop chain link and purchase and installation of "Turface" material for infields.

From Olympia exit I-5 at highway 101. Follow the signs to Aberdeen, WA . The highway will change number several times but continue towards Aberdeen. Once in Aberdeen you will find yourself back (numerically) on highway 101. Follow 101 through Aberdeen to Hoquiam. In Hoquiam follow 101 until you cross the bridge then turn left onto state route 109 (the turn off to Ocean Shores). Follow 109 approximately 1 1/2 miles. John Gable Park will be on your right

WHAT IS THE WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
