Description:

Highlands Grange Park is 26 acres, including a regional library and community center. 5.29 acres are reserved for the two buildings and associated parking. The IAC portion of the proposed project, within the remaining 20.78 acre community park, includes irrigation & grassing the last 2.5 acres of the site, landscaping, 4,350 linear feet of asphalt walking trail, 1,000 feet of concrete walkways, associated benches and trash receptacles, youth softball backstop, portable soccer goals, a small parking lot to service the athletic fields, double tennis court, 2.5 basketball courts, a zero depth splash playground, two picnic shelters, and scattered picnic tables. The neighborhood is nearing full development and while the developed area meets the City's minimal goals for open space, the park needs the amenities to meet the recreational and leisure goals of the neighborhood.

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
