Frank Geri Complex - Field 4
Description:
Develop a lighted softball field with supporting parking, restrooms, and spectator furnishings. The project is the final field in a 4-field complex. The main objective is to address the ongoing growth in softball field demand, currently not being met due to a cap on the number of teams. The site is within a major community park which includes a baseball stadium, multipurpose sports stadium, indoor swimming pool, proposed ice rink, on site trails and walkways with access to a proposed major trail system. Extensive community involvement includes passage of a bond issue in 1978 which funded the first 3 fields, a 1980 overall park master plan and a 1995 Council appointed Citizen Task force which ranked this as a high priority of the improvements needed at Civic Field Park. The final design and construction documents are 90% complete with minor revisions needed for bidding.
