Description:

To acquire lands for development of proposed Foothills Linear Park Trail. This 8 mile section is addressed in the Council approved Pierce County Comprehensive Park & Recreation Plan. The County plans to acquire an 8 mile long, 40 foot wide right of way between Cascade Junction and Carbonado. This acquisition is along an abandoned Burlington Northern Railroad line, and is part of the County's proposed regional trail system. This trail is an 8 mile portion of the proposed 24 mile Foothills Linear Park Trail. The legal description of the property to be acquired is described in Attachment A.

WHAT IS THE WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
