Description:

The 28-acre Faith Dairy is a landmark in Pierce County. Cascade Land Conservancy, in partnership with Pierce County and the Pierce Conservation District, are seeking funds to purchase the 28-acre property in the community of Summit Waller where the dairy processing and sales facilities are located. The Faith Dairy has a long history of dairy production in the community, however the farm is in need of a new landowner. The properties are vulnerable to being sold for residential development and conversion will decrease the amount of valuable working farmland. The acquisition of this historic farm will permanently protect the conservation values and allow a new generation of farmers to continue the agricultural tradition of local food production. The property in Summit Waller consists of the inactive dairy processing and sales facilities. The highly visible site has prime farmland soils and a portion of the property also classifies as farmland of statewide importance. The Faith Dairy property is a valuable part of the agricultural community in Pierce County and needs to be preserved as working farmland for future generations.
