Description:

This project will acquire 23.7 acres presently owned by DOT. The purpose of this project is to acquire land to develop an athletic field complex. We wish to create a complex for multipurpose ball fields and active recreational court opportunities. The park will be equipped with a one hundred twenty space parking lot, picnic pavilion, restroom facilities, storage facility and concrete pathways. The DOT property is connected to May Creek Regional Park. This will add to the existing 85.5 acre regional park and bring the total acreage to 109.2. Acquiring this land will provide a major trailhead for access into May Creek Park increasing the park's accessibility.

Take Coal Creek Parkway exit off I-405 and proceed SE for 5 miles. at SE 95th Way, turn right and proceed for 1 mile. The DOT property is the vacant area north of SE 95th Way.

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
