Description:

This project acquired 4150 acres of freshwater surge plain wetland and spruce forest ecosystem for addition to the Chehalis River Natural Area Preserve. The project area is located east of Cosmopolis on the Chehalis River.

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
