This project represents a major improvement along the 69 mile Centennial Trail system. A non motorized bridge will be constructed to span the Spokane River, near the City of Spokane's urban core. The bridge will provide future trail development opportunities, including an eventual link to the Columbia Plateau Trail. The project includes the construction of a 600' long bridge, 2,000 lineal feet of asphalt trail, landscaping and signage.
Location:
The project is located along the Spokane River, approximately one mile west of the Maple Street Bridge, Spokane, Washington, and includes the north and south banks of the river at an abandoned railroad bridge crossing. The proposed bridge crossing utilizes existing concrete piers that span the entire river width.
