Description:
Snohomish County Centennial Trail Development: Phase 2 represents the construction of 4.5 miles of County owned abandoned railroad right of way between the City of Lake Stevens and the City of Arlington. The trail will include a 10 foot paved pedestrian/bicycle trail and a separated 6 foot soft surface equestrian trail. Snohomish County has completed and manages 7 miles of the Centennial Trail from Snohomish to Lake Stevens. The health, recreational, environmental, and transportation benefits of non motorized trails is well documented. Snohomish County has recognized those benefits and prioritized trail construction in its Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Plan and its Capital Finance Plan.
WHAT IS THE WWRP?
The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
