Description:

Renovation of an eighty-year-old community swimming pool. Proposed improvements include: Removal of existing concrete tank and filtering system. Install subsoil drainage to prevent groundwater problems, construct a new 25-yard by six-lane lap pool and a separate wading pool. Install current technology filtering system, increase deck area, provide handicap access, reconstruct a retaining wall, install safety fencing between wading pool and main tank. Add amenities for interactive pool recreation equipment, a public address system, pool blanket cover, benches, reinstall existing blocks and diving board, landscape to restore park grounds.

Location:
Natatorium Park is located on Paton Street. Enter Cashmere from Highway 2/97 at Aplets Way bridge, continue south five blocks, cross the railroad tracks and turn right (west) onto Sunset Avenue, continue one block turn left (south) onto Paton Street, continue 100+ yards to Natatorium Park. The park is across from the school district bus maintenance shops. Pool is behind "scout building".

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
