Description:

This project will acquire and develop additional campsites for inclusion into the Cascadia Marine Trail system. One site to be acquired and developed is Possession Point. Sites to be developed only include Burrows Island, Kinney Point, Penrose Point, Skagit Island, Eagle Island and sites on Pickering Passage and at Normandy Park. Development of the campsites will include a landing area for kayaks, a group campsite with a table, a small information board, signs and a composting toilet.

The trail route extends from Olympia to the Canadian border in Puget Sound, Hood Canal, Rosario Strait and the Strait of Georgia.

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
