Cape Disappointment - Seaview Dunes

WWRP Applicant: State Parks
RCO Project Number: 02-1139
County: Pacific
Legislative District: 19th
WWRP Category: State Parks
WWRP Grant: $1,000,000
Project Type: Acquisition
Acres Protected: 80
Date Funded: 2003

Description:

The Seaview Dunes area lies between Fort Canby State Park and a large unnamed block of State Parks ownership just north of the park. State Parks seeks to acquire private property in the intervening area as it becomes available to prevent development from affecting the viewshed, one of the last undeveloped portions of the Long Beach peninsula. Property along here becomes available intermittently. We belive that several parcels will become available during the 03-05 biennium; we would like to obtain them rather than see development occur. We would work with the landowner to allow their use of the site if it can be visually minimized.
