The acquisition of the subject property inholding on Burrows Island will provide a saltwater boater access site. Potential exists to develop Burrows Island into a major boater access recreational facility for both overnight and day use. A small portion of the inholding has been recommended to be included in a 182 acre natural area preserve.

WHAT IS THE WWRP?

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
