WWRP Category: Local Parks
WWRP Grant: $98,404

Description:

This project will construct a public restroom facility, develop handicap-accessible walkways, and pave a 125-car parking lot at the Bombing Range Sports Complex, the city's most used park. Daily use of the complex has steadily increased as the size and quality of the playfields have increased. Numerous youth teams from Richland and West Richland use the playfields. On a typical day, more than 200 children participate in games or practices. The need for a permanent restroom facility has long been known. The complex lacks handicap access to the playfields, and the unpaved parking lot has raised safety concerns. People frequently complain about the lack of public restrooms and dust from the parking lot. This project will remedy these problems. Upon completion the park will have an adequate restroom facility, walkways that are barrier free, and a more efficient parking area.
