Description:

Acquire 4.8 acres for a neighborhood park to serve a residential area with few park amenities. The site is located on a neighborhood trail that is part of a proposed major multi-use trail. The service area is transitional single family residential moving toward higher density residential with few recreational opportunities and no neighborhood park. Future development will feature a playground, picnic facilities, restroom, basketball court, open turf area and limited off street parking. Surveys have indicated a deficit of neighborhood park amenities in the area for 20 years.

Location:
Take the "Northwest Ave." exit off I-5 coming from the south. Curve immediately left, turn left at the stop sign onto Northwest Ave. At intersection with Birchwood turn right and veer left immediately onto Cedarwood Ave. Property is in the middle of the first block, on Cedarwood before Firwood.

The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) is a state grant program that creates and conserves local and state parks, wildlife habitat and working farms. The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office administers WWRP grants, and the legislature funds the program.
