The project is the acquisition of a .81 acre parcel and a 30 x 120 foot trail easement. This acquisition will complete the 1/4-mile Avondale & Union Hill Road trail segment. This project will link the existing trail underpass at Union Hill Road with the roughly graded trail across two developed parcels. The Avondale & Union Hill Road segment ties into the Trail at Bear Creek Park segment which will be constructed in 2005 and is 1/3 mile. The Trail at Bear Creek Park will cross Redmond Way at a new light in 2004 and flow into the constructed 1-mile Town Center Trail segment. The Town Center Trail connects directly with the Sammamish River Trail. Thus this acquisition will complete a 1.6 trail portion of the Bear Creek Trail corridor. These segments and others constitute the Bear & Evans Creek Trail & Greenway which consists of two main trail corridors, the Bear Creek Trail and the Evans Creek Trail. Redmond's current project is part of the Bear Creek Trail corridor. Bear & Evans Creek Trail & Greenway is 9 mile trail project being acquired and developed in phases. The overal project connects to other Redmond and King County trails and will create loops in and around the city.
