Natural Area
In 2007 the Washington Legislature approved $100 million in funding the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP).
WWRP grants fund the conservation of high
quality native ecosystems, unique plant or animal communities,
endangered or threatened species, rare geological features, or features
of scientific or educational value.
Since 1990, the Coalition has secured $69 million for state grants to protect 66 Natural Area projects in Washington State. Funding is provided for
acquisitions only.
