Coalition Receives WRPA Award for Outstanding Legislative Work

The Washington Recreation and Parks Association awarded the Coalition with a Citation of Merit for Legislative Advocacy in recognition of the Coalition's success in securing $100 million in 2007 for 142 parks, working farms and wildlife areas.

Survey says Washingtonians find Recreation Areas Crowded and Far from Home

A survey by the Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) says people feel more "crowded" than ever in virtually all recreation activities.

The RCO surveyed Washingtonians about their participation in outdoor recreation and found that activities like walking and biking are the most popular, and people need more safe places to do this close to home.

Sports are second in popularity, with many different sports competing for scarce facilities (continued) . . .

Donor Profile: Tom Reeve

The Coalition has a broad and diverse base of support, and this is what makes us so successful. Corporations, local park departments, conservation groups, hunters and anglers, environmental and outdoor enthusiasts all understand how the Coalition benefits our quality of life throughout the state.

Tom Reeve, a member of the Washington Advisory Council for the Trust for Public Land, has been an active member of the Coalition since 2005. "I support the Coalition because it is so successful in enabling land and water conservation work by organizations across the state."

"And, as a father, I see the benefits of the Coalition's work firsthand when I see my kids enjoying ball fields, hiking and biking trails and community parks that the Coalition helped create."

The Coalition does not receive any of the funds that it lobbies for in Olympia. We rely on support from our members. Please donate today.
