Grants Available for Parks, Wildlife & Farmland
Need Money for Parks, Recreation, Habitat or Farmland Protection?
The State of Washington is accepting applications for grants to build parks, protect farms and wildlife habitat, and provide places for a host of outdoor activities.
The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office, formerly the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation, manages the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) and eight other grant programs.
Cities, counties, tribes, lead entities and special districts like ports, parks and schools are eligible to apply.
WWRP grants are offered just once every two years so make sure your community applies TODAY!

Thanks to the work of the Coalition as founder and chief advocate for the WWRP grant program, the state will award as much as $100 million for:

Farmland Preservation: protect or enhance viable farmland, or restore ecological functions.

Parks: acquire, develop or renovate neighborhood parks, ball fields, skate parks, swimming pools and other recreation areas.

Trails: acquire and develop trails and trail heads for cycling, walking, horseback riding, cross country skiing and more.

Water Access: acquire and develop public access to beaches, lakes, and rivers for fishing, swimming and non-motorized boating.

Riparian Habitat: acquire, enhance and restore fresh and salt-water habitat lands, including mitigation banking.

Wildlife Habitat: acquire critical and urban wildlife habitat.
