Ranked WWRP Grant List Released
The Recreation and Conservation Office released a ranked list of 115 outdoor recreation and conservation project applications submitted to the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP). The Coalition will ask the legislature to sustain $100 million
in Washington's capital construction budget for this highly competitive
grant program. A list and descriptions of the proposed projects in your
community can easily be found on our website.

The Coalition has received some great press in the last few months. In July the Olympian printed an editorial supporting our request to renew $100 million for WWRP grants. And in September Seattle PI columnist Joel Connelly posted a blog about the Coalition's recent breakfast and the Puget Sound Business Journal profiled our Executive Director, Joanna Grist.
Record Demand for State Funds for Conservation
A
record total of $272 million in requests and
370 applications has been submitted to the
Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) for funding next legislative session. The WWRP is a state grant program that funds parks, wildlife habitat and farmland preservation projects throughout the state. In the last two-year cycle, the WWRP received 234 applications totaling $154 million.
